I wanted to share with you all a great new website for children's activities and information around the Newcastle area.

Alphabet Street is a destination for all parents and carers, who wish to make their lives easier, when it comes to seeking local information about what's available for kids.
They endeavour to bring you the latest up to date information about rainy day venues, free activities, special and weekly events plus our daily editorial in ABC Daily featuring products, venues, businesses etc that are specific to children.

There is a lot to browse through with categories like - bits and bobs, activities, groups and support, health and fitness, maternity/postnatal, play and development, see and do and shopping.

If you aren't in the local area it is still worth a look as it will give you ideas on how to entertain your little ones when your imagination is slow and there are also some great competitions to enter.

I have been lacking inspiration this week. It is cold and I can't seem to get my body into action all I want to do is sit under a blanket in front of heating. I have achieved a fraction of what I set out to do and only said yesterday that I needed something to get me going.....

Today that inspiration arrived...

I woke up to an email in my inbox from Isaac Bailey....Isaac Bailey you say,who is that and how is that exciting? Issac Bailey is Heather Bailey's husband!

Heather Bailey, for those of you who don't have a fabric obsession like me is the savvy lady who designed the fabric that I purchased for the backdrop of my recent photo shoot....

Heather is one talented gal who doesn't stop at designing fabrics, it is well worth sitting down with a warm drink and if nothing else taking in her beautiful photos from her blog. While browsing through her beautiful creations and inspiring blog posts I came across one of her inventions - Trash Ties - The Coolest New Hair Thingie TM.

I knew immediately that Trash Ties would be a great success here in Australia and wanted to be able to offer them to my customers as well as others who I know would love them.

Today, I am happy to say that the email from Issac gave me the OK to distribute them exclusively throughout Australia!

So I am going to be busy busy again and will need to post more about how they work and how brilliant they are shortly, but you can see here just how cool they are in the meantime.

To Celebrate my achievement I am going to give away 3 packs of Trash Ties to one random followers of my blog. If you follow my blog now you have automatically been entered into the draw. If you sign up to follow this blog before the 31st July 2009 you will also go in the draw.

If you want another chance at winning sign up for my newsletter as I will be running a separate giveaway in my next mailing!

Bryony's Beautiful Bridesmaids

1 comment:

A few months ago I got an order for some of my green posie rings.
I was honored when I was contacted by Bryony who had ordered the rings to let me know that she had bought them for her bridesmaids to wear on her wedding day. Bryony said that she would send me a photo of the rings and asked me to remind her as she is currently pregnant and that means one thing..she is forgetful!
I must admit that I forget and was very happy to receive the below photo this week.

What a trio of lovely ladies!

Thanks Bryony for remembering me among some of the most special days in your life.

Flirty Friday

No comments:

I have decided to start a little ritual called Flirty Friday....I love to shop and love to chat to other mums that sell their handmade goods just as I do. So I have decided to 'flirt' with one brand each Friday to highlight talent, mainly in Australia but from around the world too.

The first gorgeous brand is Mimoo. What a cute name!
Mimoo is a fresh contemporary approach to much needed baby items and only uses 100% cotton. Now we all know that I am a fabric FREAK. If I never bought another piece of fabric for my shop I think my stash could see me out! Mimoo has the cutest fabric of spots (My all time favourite!!) and apples are among the lovely prints.

The play rugs and pj's start from just a mere $15USD with very reasonable postage.

Your baby will love them!
Apart from the lovely items for sale Mimoo has a great blog and even though it is quite new I have found it a good read when trying to unwind from a busy day of orders, cleaning and children entertaining!
I hope that you love Mimoo as much as I do and pop over to support such a lovely Australian handmade brand.

Until Next Friday.......Flirt away!

Mini La La

Last week I received an order from the lovely Carli at Mini La La. I love getting orders from other creative people and Carli is CREATIVE! She makes beautiful nappies from designer fabrics and they are to die for! If you are interested in using cloth nappies take a look and sign up for her newsletter as these are the nicest reusable nappies I have seen...EVER.

I had the pleasure of making her daughter Ivie some headbands and ponytail holders. Carli was nice enough to send me a photo of her super cutie wearing my blue circle ponies... isn't she delightful?

I plan on stopping by Mini La La myself to pick up one of the beautiful handmade dolls that Carli has for sale in her store. They are lovely and Scarlett just has to have one. They are all one of a kind and once adopted you will not see that doll again. How lovely is that!

The big question I have now is why is my wish list full of children's items and will it ever have adult content again?

When the Boy is away the Girls will Play

The other half is going on a fishing trip with his mates from work this weekend so I am going to have a movie night with a few of my favourite friends. I can't wait! We are going to cheat and order pizza but we are all bringing something sweet to eat afterwards (I think there will be a few pains in the belly that night!)
Normally I would cook my sweets but I have a wedding cake to make (I sometimes create wedding cakes for friends, a skill I learnt in my early 20's) this weekend for a friend that is getting married on Saturday so I am a little too busy.
Today I went down to the yummiest cake shop and bought us some special treats, aren't they too good to eat!?! I am very inspired to create now!

Bird Watching

1 comment:
There is nothing like finding a bird in its natural habitat looking relaxed and at home. I myself have become a bit of a bird watcher....

I hopped over to the The Pouchmiss Website to see what the new design was like (If you are a new mum or dad and don't have one of these get there now it is the baby essential of our time!..The website explains it all!) only to find a beautiful bird front and centre. It was the Girly Girl Bird .......

The Girly Girl Bird is a popular bird and comes in two types of species, the bobbie bird and the clip bird. The Girly Girl bird roams in packs of three in colours of pink (seen here) aqua and purple. Found in large numbers here.

So I want to shout out a big Thank You to Ros who created the super essential Pouchmiss who thought that My little Bobby Pin was a worthy addition to promote her gorgeous product.
